Not only in Prague and other cities but in the whole Czech republic there are numerous places that have lost their original purpose. Nobody makes any use of them but despite that they are excluded from public spaces. You aren't usually allowed to enter such places, they are behind a fence, barbed wire or guarded and sometimes it's not even permitted to take photos of them.
We have built a teahouse on the top of an old and unused steel lighting mast above the freight section of Praha Libeň train station. It is a simple structure that won't stay on the spot for very long. The wooden construction is wire mounted on the top platform of the mast. We have used wood from demolished winter stadium at Štvanice.
You are invited! But remember, you must not be afraid of heights and you must be rather fit to climb to the top. The staggering views are worth the hard work.
It is interesting how the simple structure revived the bleak perspectives along the east west axis. The tearoom at the top of the mast provides for a lively detail. Along the north south direction the structure almost disappears.
